Highly recommended weight loss tool

This is my favorite diet program ever! I’ve used it to keep at a healthy weight for months and months – I CAN’T overstate how much easier this is then anything else I’ve tried or even heard of.

  • It’s EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE…  weight really does just fall off.
  • It is the EASIEST, SIMPLEST program I’ve found – NOT a complicated mess of rules
  • It’s CHEAP!  Buy the document – reduce your grocery bill by 15-30% – NOTHING else to buy
  • NO THINKING ABOUT DIETING for five or six days a week!
  • SO HEALTHY!  Weight-reducing, hormone-balancing, mind-clearing.

My Review, Part 2: Misconceptions and My Personal Experience

WHAT is Eat Stop Eat?  Short and to the point Eat Stop Eat review / overview :  (long and chatty review below :)   I have a lot to say about this, and realize that can be taxing, so I compressed it for you…)

It’s FLEXIBLE, INTERMITTENT FASTING.

  • FLEXIBLE – do this WHENEVER you choose – any start time will work well, any day
  • INTERMITTENT – only fast occasionally – once or twice a week, MAX – for 24 hours each
  • FASTING – DON’T EAT!  for 24 hours – start after dinner, eat dinner the next day.  Easy.

It’s a SIMPLE WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT.

  • Simply – Don’t Eat.
  • Cuts calories 14% (1 day fasting a week) or 28% (2 days/week) without changing HOW you eat
  • Increased fat and glucose in the bloodstream during (caused by) fasting means you’re directly reducing fat stores
  • Diet inconspicuously – doesn’t interfere with your social life, so you won’t be tempted to break it

Brad Pilon Eat Stop EatIt’s SCIENTIFICALLY SUPPORTED – written by a NUTRITIONIST – who USED to work with the SUPPLEMENT INDUSTRY.

  • Brad Pilon has honors graduate degrees in Human Biology AND Nutrition.
  • He (formerly) worked for YEARS in the supplement industry – DESIGNING the weight loss supplements he now finds COMPLETELY UNNECCESSARY!
  • Eat Stop Eat is his graduate thesis – rewritten for easier reading (it’s still well documented with all the citations…)

Long form Eat Stop Eat review:

Eat Stop Eat is a very, very, very simple program.  It’s almost ridiculous.  It’s also super-effective and super easy to stick to, which is what makes it so worth it.  So many diet plans are so intriguing, so interesting… but then keeping track of the rules and portions and timings for weeks and months and years afterwords seems daunting and it’s easy to give up.

This program isn’t like that.  If you read the manual once, you’ll know the science and action plan.  If you read it twice, I doubt you’ll ever forget the premise and action plan.  Me?   I’ve read it a dozen more times then that – because it’s easy to forget how simple it is… “oh I must be doing something wrong, this is too easy…”.   It runs through the science of the diet in a clear, calm manner – leaving no questions about the effectiveness of the diet.  There’s 52 citations in the document!  Going back to read it after the latest news blip or diet has you questioning if you’re really doing things right is well worth it.

With Eat Stop Eat, you simply fast for 24 hours (NOT “all day”), once or twice a week.  You can look at some of my articles about fasting on this site, or go read what Brad Pilon has to say about it – it’s so basic, but so useful.

I haven’t seen any another plan with so many citations, from so many different (and legitimate, science-community) sources.  It’s understandable and very reassuring, as the premise and advice is quite different then is found in most other plans .  The results it highlights are realistic and healthy – 1-2 pounds per week.  It shows graphs of your weight on the program – you’ll lose 2-3 pounds every time you fast, but gain (most) of it back the next day – but the overall trend is down.

The main problem I have with this program is the same thing I’ve been praising up and down this review:  it’s so simple! The book is a quick read at 91 pages (but I LOVE reading about fitness and nutrition) – but it’s really dense. It debunks huge myths in 2 pages or less – that’s a huge mindset change for very little text.  It doesn’t just explain how you’ll be losing weight, it explains how your body and hormones will achieve greater balance by going though a cycle of feeding and fasting.  The explanations are terse, but clear.

Another benefit of this diet is that it’s completely inconspicuous.  No one is going to notice what’s going on when you follow the practices of Eat Stop Eat – you just won’t be eating with them.  If you need people to notice or sympathize with your crazy obstructive diet – if that’s part of your motivation for dieting, this program will not work for you – there’s plenty of diets that will.

I half wish it came with a workout plan, because I believe it to be important for health – but this plan does great on it’s own for weight loss.   You can choose to package in some quick workouts for a nominal extra fee at the checkout, though.  I recommend doing that, or getting a personal trainer, cobbling together a program from free advice on the internet, or I personally like Turbulance Training as a workout program.  I’m doing the Kettlebells right now, to good results in ridiculously short workouts (this is turning into a “my favorite things” page, sorry).

I do think this way of eating will work spectacularly for anyone that wishes to try it.  I found the effects to be dramatic and fast – and I was using it to work on my last 7 pounds to my ideal weight (always considered to be the hardest).  If you’ve accumulated quite a bit of poundage you’d like to drop, I’d consider getting a supplementary diet plan and workout plan so that you can learn to eat in a healthy way – but Eat Stop Eat could easily be your primary or only plan.

I think you can see I highly recommend this plan for anyone who is looking or ever expects to look at losing weight.  It is a unique approach that seems to be impeccably backed up by  research (and personal anecdote).   Eat Stop Eat is the crucial tool you may be missing in your quest to lose weight… enjoy the success!
