Changing Your Diet for Excellent Results
Hundred of ways to eat healthily exist – I think we can all agree on that. What works for one person might not for another – it’s too bad, but sometimes trial and error is the way to go. But you’ve also had a whole live of accumulated data that should help you feel out a direction to go.
If you’re severely overweight, start with the basics and not thinking too hard – you’ll lose weight primarily by cutting calories and replacing unhealthy foods with things that are good for you. This isn’t always easy will-power-wise, but it also should require much fine tuning until you are getting much closer to your goal weight.
If you’re closer to your weight loss goals, you face significantly different weight loss programs. Hopefully your motivation and willpower is up from getting (or staying) at this level, so now we start crafting – and here’s where it gets hard.
I think trying out new paths is totally the way to go. I’ve been a vegetarian for 3.5 years, for ethical and health reasons, but upon moving to a new, more meat-centric society, I have decided to attempt a primal diet for the next two months and see what that brings me. Primal eating is heavy on the meat and vegetables, and rejects grains and processed foods. We’ll see how it goes. It’s certainly a 180, but my body has adjusted well. If, in two months, my figure is not what I was hoping, I’ll modify the diet, perhaps cutting out the meat, perhaps aiming for a more conventional carb balance. Since I’m not displeased at where I’m at, I have the freedom to change a diet and watch the effects without worrying about my health too badly. I’m actually quite excited, I had forgotten how tasty meat is.
The intermittent fasting is staying though – this is definitely a primal thing (cavemen couldn’t count on food 100% of the time) and has worked excellently for me in the past.
So some major changeups, but I’m optimistic. Keep your spirits up, and you will be rewarded with the weight loss you are working towards!
